The music ministry is an important aspect of the worship experience at Christ Covenant Church. There are many musical opportunities for all ages to become involved in.
We embrace a blended style of worship, singing hymns to piano or pipe organ accompaniment or singing contemporary Praise and Worship music lead by our Worship Team.
It’s always a special treat whenever the Stuart Memorial Handbell Choir performs. The adult handbell choir was started in 1982 with a gracious donation of a three octave set of handbells. Since then, two more additions have given us a complete five octave set of handbells. In addition, through generous donations, we have been able to buy a five octave set of HandChimes. The bell choir presents public concerts on occasion and has been involved in local and national festivals.
Our music ministry also often
includes the individual talents of our members. On any given Sunday, our
worship may be enhanced by the addition of a flute, violin or percussion
accompaniment to the choir, a child’s piano solo, or the offering of a special
vocal number by a member of our congregation.
Christ Covenant Church offers lots of musical opportunities for the kids, too! In 1990, a full set of Orff instruments (xylophone and rhythm type barred instruments) was purchased through the memorial fund and dedicated in memory of our former music director, Barbara Kaler. The handchimes are also used to teach the children the basics of handbell playing.
The Christ Covenant Orchestra plays on selected occasions throughout the year, usually at Christmas and Easter. Individual instrumental solo selections are often played as special music to enhance our Sunday morning worship services.
The choirs enjoy regular social events which further the fellowship within our choirs. Come be a part of the wonderful music ministry program at Christ Covenant Church!
